Comparing Every Version of “A Star Is Born”

Saw A Star is Born at the ArcLight in Hollywood on Friday night and there was a palpable feeling of excitement among those in the audience before the movie began.

I’d say the movie lived up to that excitement and all the hype.

Lady Gaga is a movie star – no doubt. And in my opinion, this is the performance of Bradley Cooper’s career. He’s never been more appealing, more sexy, more vulnerable.

I’ve been finding out in recent days that plenty of young people were not aware that this is the fourth version of a Star is Born to hit the screen.

Gaga follows Janet Gaynor, Judy Garland, and Barbra Streisand as the female lead while Cooper follows Frederick March, James Mason, and Kris Kristofferson.
