Colton Haynes and husband split after 6 months – actor releases new song “Man it Sucks”

They became engaged after just a month of dating and now Colton Haynes and Jeff Leatham have split after just six months of marriage.

I know there will be a lot of judgement but I think gay celebs have just as much right to have disastrously short marriages as straight ones too. Let’s not forget Britney Spears (55 hours), Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman (9 Days), Ali Landry and Mario Lopez: (18 Days). Even back in the 1960s Ethel Merman and Ernest Borgnine split after just 32 days.

Leatham is a Hollywood florist who works as Artistic Director in the Floral/Design Studio in the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. He popped the question to Haynes in March 2017 on the beach at Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Los Cabos, Mexico, and he went all out. He even got Cher to record a video message that was projected on an enormous screen on the beach moments before he got down on bended knee. An elated Haynes later wrote that the whole thing is ‘what movies are made of.’

Now Haynes is singing a different tune and shares his feelings in the new song Man it Sucks (see video below):

10 Remarks

  1. Getting engaged to someone you barely know, just after dating them for only one month, was kinda dumb. What were you thinking? I hope that you learn a lot from this experience and grow from it.

  2. I wish him the best as I did before when he gave all the signs of instability, including a sudden marriage (what also was a red flag in itself) after confessing a variety of problems and making unnecessary “retouches” on his already flawless face (again, another flag). The problem with some (just some) people is that they use whether the assertion of a certain sexual orientation or even a marriage as a way to assert themselves publicly and sometimes (sometimes) those open and loud actions backfire (we have some people who backtracked and said that no, they were not gay/bisexual after using it on the media for whatever reason and also those whose marriage was also short and instable). Again, I wish him the best of luck and the best of personal and professional help (for those problems he said he had).

I don’t know Colton Haynes at all, although I really liked him in Arrow and Teen Wolf. But I do recall he’s spoken openly about depression, and he’s been through a lot of changes in the last few years, so I get his desire to want to find love and stability. But a month isn’t long enough to know someone before making such a commitment. I feel for him, and I hope he grows from this, but I also hope he realizes that he is a beautiful person – outside too, obviously – and he doesn’t need to rush into anything. Love will wait if it’s the right fit.

  4. @Lexxvs I concur. I’ve loved this kid since “The Gate”. He does seem quite troubled. I pray that his tribe/circle give him the proper counsel so that he gets the right help and support. I’m crossing my fingers that this song is the last public display regarding his failed marriage. Hopefully, his people get him rehab or something that will help him cope in private- without the play-by-play media circus that can happen. I’m hoping one or the both of them has public grace with regards to how they handle each other. There is already too much “Jerry Springer” drama playing out in the world. I’m rooting for him though! Stay the course @coltonhaynes. There will be light.

  5. Didn’t his mother just pass away? Tough times

Maybe Haynes, like a lot of young people who rush into marriage, needs to learn is that love and marriage are rarely, if ever “what movies are made of.”

Sad to hear it didn’t work out for them. I wish both of them well in moving on with their lives.

So sad. Gee I’ll write a song about it.

  9. When I read just days ago that he was going back to ARROW on contract, I surmised his relationship was on the rocks since the show films in Toronto. I am free, again, to fantasize about him from afar. Best of luck to him.

  10. Oh well…I guess it back to more therapy and soul searching for this needy Instagram fame lost soul. Thoughts and prayers.
