Civil rights leader and author David Mixner bringing “Oh Hell No” to Los Angeles El Rey Theatre on June 11

I’m so honored and thrilled that civil rights leader and author David Mixner is a regular reader of this blog and so appreciate his support.

This seasoned political operative and activist has advised presidents and prime ministers and even been arrested for chaining himself to the White House fence.

We’ve exchanged emails many times but never met in person. So I’m looking forward to that opportunity when David brings his original stage work Oh Hell No to Los Angeles on June 11.

After an acclaimed New York premiere, David’s original stage work is coming to ten cities in 2015 -2016, with performances benefiting Point Foundation.

David brings his audience onto his metaphorical front porch in this theatrical tell-all about his headline grabbing life at the forefront of social change in civil rights, peace and the LGBT rights for four decades. He will be joined on stage by Dave Koz, Rory O’Malley and Emily Swallow, with additional guest talent to be announced soon.

Two-time Tony winner Judith Light says of Mixner: “David has a unique place in the history of the GLBT movement. His distinctive take of his own history gives us an invaluable insight into the history we all share.”

This is great news. Definitely share with us what you think of the Los Angeles show after you see it. I’d be interested in hearing about it on your blog. Unfortunately I won’t be able to attend the San Francisco show.
