Cher’s memoir to be released in two parts!
Oscar-Emmy-Grammy winner Cher, who will be inducted into the International Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year, announced today that she will be releasing a memoir in two parts, with the first half — Cher: The Memoir, Part One — due this fall.
I. Can’t. Wait.
According to a press release, Cher: The Memoir, Part One “follows her extraordinary beginnings through childhood to meeting and marrying Sonny Bono — and reveals the highly complicated relationship that made them world-famous, but eventually drove them apart.”
Featuring Cher’s “trademark honesty and humor,” the book details “how this diamond in the rough succeeded with no plan and little confidence to become the trailblazing superstar the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century.”
The memoir showcases the singer-songwriter as “the daughter, the sister, the wife, the lover, the mother, and the superstar.”
“It is a life too immense for only one book,” the press release states.
Cher: The Memoir, Part Two will be released in 2025.
To celebrate the news, Cher also shared the cover to Instagram (see below), which features a black-and-white image of the “Believe” singer featuring her long, dark hair and winged eyeliner. In the image, she has her hand over her head while she is leaning sideways.
Fellow Oscar winner Angelica Huston did the same thing with her memoir about her epic life coming out in two parts. I read both books and was glad she split them. Barbra Streisand, however, told her story in one very long book and I ate that up too. So either way, I’m game. I like to have the physical book and don’t do the audio version although Streisand really put a lot into audio version and many of my friends loved it.
