Cher, 71, steals the show at Billboard Music Awards
I absolutely love that #IconCher is trending on Twitter because it means the greatest of gay icons is getting her due. At the age of 71, the ageless Cher showed up looking and sounding much like she did when she was 41. She performed two of her biggest hits Believe and If I Can Turn Back Time wearing terrific wigs and outfits and showed the world that somehow she’s still at the top of her game. Sometimes I wish Cher had made more movies but in the end she has been right to focus on live performing. It really is what she does best and is as good as she ever was. She doesn’t need to turn back time – she’s still got it! (Will post video of her performance later today. For now, here is her acceptance speech after being presented with Billboard’s Icon Award.)
As one of the most dominant figures in music & entertainment for over SIX DECADES, @cher is SO deserving of the #BBMAs Icon Award! #IconCher pic.twitter.com/4Of5sjZDG4

Cher was magnificent and she looked tremendous! Between her and Celine Dion, they truly showed the younger generation what true talent is!

Once Cher is done with live performing, I’d love to see her do a few more personal projects: a good movie, an album other than dance, and a great memoir–she’s a great storyteller! Cheers, Rick
