Chely Wright is pregnant with twins!

So happy for Chely Wright and her wife, Lauren Blitzer-Wright, who have just announced that they are expecting identical twins this summer.

What wonderful news.

Since she came out publicly in 2010, Chely has been one of the most intelligent and articulate voices in the LGBT community and she’s just so lovely.

It’s fitting that the couple chose to share the news with Howard Bragman on his cool new YouTube show Gwissues. It was Howard who guided Chely through her public coming out and her memorable appearances on The Oprah Winfey Show and The Today Show.

‘We feel like God blessed us with twins,’ Chely writes. ‘We are anticipating that I will likely be as big as a … bus or an A-frame house by around June. They’re due in July but with identical twins, we typically have to deliver a month early.’

‘When gay couples have babies, it’s logistically a little different than when straight people have babies as we all know,’ she adds.
