Charlie Hunnam is open to ‘Queer As Folk’ reunion: ‘I’m very proud of being a part of that show’

Dreamy and talented Charlie Hunnam may be starring in movies like The Lost City of Z, Pacific Rim and King Arthur: Legend of the Sword but he would gladly revisit the role that launched his career.

Before his long run on TV’s Sons of Anarchy, Humman played gay teen Nathan Maloney on the original Queer as Folk series in 1999-2000.

‘I’d be game for a reunion,’ the 37-year-old actor tells The Sun. ‘It’s a long time ago, I’m an old bastard now – that was 20 years ago.’

Although nearly two decades have passed, Hunnam says he still gets recognized as Nathan – especially in the UK.

‘When I’m back in England, people still recognize me as Nathan… It was the beginning of my career, so I have very fond memories of it,’ he says.

‘I’m very proud of being a part of that show. I’m very happy when people bring it up. I’m just surprised because it was so long ago.’

During the show’s run, Hunnam’s Nathan shared several explicit sex scenes with Aiden Gillen’s Stuart Jones.

Gillen of Game of Thrones fame has a role in Hunnam’s King Arthur which opened over the weekend.

‘I always felt like I owed him a grand debt of gratitude,’ Hunnam said of Gillen.

‘I really thanked him for the impact he had on me. He thought I was mad but I felt it deeply.’
