Chad Allen to run 2014 Sydney Marathon to raise more than $10,000 for AIDS Project Los Angeles
When I saw Chad Allen a few weeks ago at opening night of Outfest, I didn’t realize he was in training for the 2014 Sydney Marathon.
The star of television (Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman), movies (Save Me) and stage (Looped) is running for a good cause: AIDS Project Los Angeles.
Chad, who is currently a full-time student at UCLA, wants to raise more than $10,000 for APLA.
Chad tells Huffington Post: “I have been involved with AIDS Project Los Angeles as an actor/fundraiser for over 20 years participating in countless events here in LA. But after riding in six AIDS/life-cycles (545 mile bike rides from San Fran to LA to raise money for the LA Gay and Lesbian Centers HIV/AIDS services), I was looking for a new challenge and service opportunity that wouldn’t take me away during finals.”
The race will take place this fall and will mark Chad’s first trip to Australia.
” … The course we are running is the same as the Sydney games a few years back. They say its extraordinarily beautiful!”
