I’ll never forget what #Kobe shared with us on @goodmorningamerica…when I asked him if he missed basketball he said something that really stayed with me…that there’s a difference between what you do and who you are We honor his life and legacy in our special tribute next @abcnetwork and @ESPN

So many lives taken too soon today. Sending so much love to Kobe’s family and all the families who lost loved ones in this crash. A painful reminder that life is precious and short. (Pic from the last game I saw him play in)

I had dinner with Kobe and Vanessa once, along with Salvador and my friend Kelly. Of course I knew him as an athlete, but his mind is what blew me away most of all. Such an incredibly motivated, smart person. He told me stories of talking to the greats – Michael Jackson, Hilary Swank and others – just to find out how they ticked in a quest to discover what made them great. The truth? He was already one of the greats. I left that dinner feeling so inspired and in awe of a him – a force of nature. There are no words. I can’t believe it. And his baby girl… It’s so heartbreaking. It’s all so short. Love hard. Vanessa, I love you.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of @kobebryant, as well as to the entire @lakers family. This is a horrible tragedy. Kobe was one of the best to ever play the game of basketball, and I was fortunate to spend some time with him at last year’s #espys. May he Rest In Peace. #kobe

One Remark

  1. Yesterday, the 26th, bad day hearing the news about Kobe Bryant. First I thought it was a co-worker of my with the same name but realizing who and still have to stay composed until I watched the news and read these tributes… I can only say let the tears flow and remember what Kobe Bryant taught you (while we’re here we should learn from one another), for me it was to be great you have passion. RIP
