Carson Daly apologizes for making fun of gay people on his radio show; hear his original comments here

You have to wonder what possessed Carson Daly to say the things he did on his radio show this morning.

He has now apologized via Twitter but you have to figure that will not be the end of it.

Carson writes: “This morning on my radio show I attempted to make fun of myself & offended others by mistake. I sincerely apologize.”

The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) has emailed me and said they are in dialogue with Daly’s representatives and have asked him to speak out against stereotypes of the LGBT community.

I’d say it’s the least he could do.

You can listen to the comments for yourself below and I will be very interested to hear from you.

Is this at the level of what Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder once said about black people – comments that got him fired from CBS?

where has he been hiding while the entire DADT battle was waged? i honestly didn’t know he was that clueless. effing moron.

I don’t want to listen to his comments. Just reading about it is bad enough. It’s these off-the-cuff “jokes” and comments that are just as responsible for gay youths thinking less of themselves as outright bullying. I have a friend who posted a pic of Oscar De Le Hoya in fishnets on her FaceBook and one of her friends commented that the he was a “fag” and my friend repeated it. And she is someone who works with many gay men in her line of work. It’s so ingrained in society that people don’t even realize the damage they are doing and hurt they are causing to others. Someone in the public eye like Carson Daly should know better.

  4. Another non-apology apology.

  5. Two words: Mark Bingham ( So, how do we get GLAAD to teach Carson about recent history? Carson’s comments are inconsiderate and willfully ignorant.

I wonder what Mark Bingham’s mother would say to Mr. Daly about this? You remember Mark? Gay rugby player and hero of 9/11 that helped save America from another attack?

  7. Carson who? Is that bitch even relevent enough to pay attention to?

    K. Martinez says:

I don’t believe he’s sincere. He’s just sorry he was called on it.

  9. Beautifully crafted “apology” , written. by his publicist.

  10. just plain sad and it goes also to the others with him that laughed along with him…just can’t understand these people in entertainment world that work along side all different kinds of people including gays and lesbians who think they can still get a laugh from being insensitive and cruel when so many kids are killing themselves from bullies…
