Caitlyn Jenner has no regrets about book even if ex-wife and stepkids are furious about it
Caitlyn Jenner regrets nothing.
As the transgender reality star continues to make the rounds promoting her new memoir, Jenner is being asked about the divide the book has caused between her and ex-wife Kris and her children.
‘I regret nothing,’ Jenner said this week on The Talk. ‘I have no regrets. I got over regrets a long time ago.’
Former stepdaughter Kim Kardashian, to whom Jenner had been close, has gone public with her displeasure about what was written about her mother in Secrets of My Life which debuted in 8th place on The New York Times best seller list.
Jenner, 67, says it was simply time for her to tell her side of things after remaining silent for so long.
‘If you saw the (Keeping Up With the Kardashians) show over the last 10 or 11 years, my opinion was never really brought forward. It was always everybody else’s opinion. I was with a lot of very strong women.
‘But this book is about my story. These are my opinions, this is how I saw it. It wasn’t done maliciously. I read it and I was so nice to Kris in the book. I said a lot of good things. Her interpretation of what might have happened and my interpretation are different.’
Kim Kardashian had been the most publicly supportive of Jenner’s transition so their estrangement has been most noteworthy.
‘I love Kimberly, I think she’s a wonderful person,’ Jenner said on the Today show on Australia’s 9 Network Thursday (11 May).
‘But, well, to be honest with you, I really haven’t talked to her in a long time. I’ve kind of let everything calm down. So I kind of stay, you know, I keep my distance.
‘I’m out there trying to make a difference in the world. There’s a lot of drama in the Kardashian family. This is my book about my opinions on things that had happened with me and my family. Any time I express my opinion, you know, with my family, there’s always challenges in doing that.’
