Brett Ratner and GLAAD announce joint project
Brett Ratner, director of the recent film Tower Heist, was supposed to be in the final stages of preparing for this year’s Academy Awards which he had been hired to produce.
But Ratner resigned, under pressure, from the Oscars gig last November due to the fallout from a gay slur he made during a film screening in Hollywood. He had been asked whether he rehearses with his actors before shooting a scene and replied, ‘Rehearsing is for faggots.’
Ratner apologized and began working with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD).
On Wednesday , Ratner and GLAAD announced a video series called “Come Out for Equality.’ It will feature a diverse group of Hollywood celebrities, athletes, musicians and politicians ‘coming out of the closet’ as supporters of equality.
