Barbra Streisand has new CD-DVD out this week!

I didn’t feel like selling a kidney to be able to afford tickets so I missed Barbra Streisand when she performed at Hollywood Bowl as part of her most recent tour.

But I can afford to buy her latest CD/DVD which was released this week and is called Back to Brooklyn.

Songs include As If We Never Said Goodbye (with special lyrics), The Way He Makes Me Feel, Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered, Didn’t We, The Way We Were / Through The Eyes Of Love; The Way We Were\ Through The Eyes Of Love and a Broadway medley of Rose’s Turn / Some People / Don’t Rain On My Parade.

She also performs You’re The Top, Lost Inside Of You (love this song!), Evergreen, People and a duet of How Deep is the Ocean with her son, Jason Gould.

Also Streisand fans, you can watch Barbra for FREE this Friday. Barbra Streisand: Back to Brooklyn will air on PBS’s Great Performances on November 29 at 9 p.m. as part of the PBS Arts Fall Festival (check local listings). Streisand is joined by Chris Botti, Il Volo, and son Jason Gould for two hours of hits, including nine songs she has never performed on a concert stage.

Now 71, there are those who say Barbra can’t hit all the notes she used to but in these videos from the show, she still sounds damned good and she looks magnificent.

Wow!

4 Remarks

  1. Thanks for the info on the show, Friday, Greg, might have missed it otherwise. There have been comments that this lady is difficult to work with. Watching her work was interesting, a consummate professional. She definitely knew what she wanted and did what it takes to get it.

  2. As a white gay man, I do not like this lady’s voice.

  3. As a 53 year old gay man I love this singers voice.

  4. voice since I was a young man before I was a teenager.
