“Bachelor” Jake Pavelka to guest on Lifetime comedy-drama series “Drop Dead Diva”
C’mon, you didn’t really expect Jake Pavelka to ride off into the sunset with that Vienna chick and fade into obscurity, did you?
Not a chance. The hunky Jake is in no rush to head back to his job as a commercial airline pilot and, I sense, in no rush to marry Vienna.
This dude is milking his 15 minutes segueing straight from The Bachelor to Dancing With the Stars and now he has landed a real acting job on Lifetime’s comedy-drama Drop Dead Diva.
According to People.com, Jake will guest star as Toby Davlin, a suitor on Finding the One, a dating show whose producer is being sued for “intentionally inflicting emotional harm” when Toby spurns one bachelorette for another.
He begins shooting his scenes Friday and episode, called “Good Grief,” is slated to air Aug. 22.
“I am honored to be a part of Drop Dead Diva this season,” Jake says, “and cannot wait to meet the cast and crew.”
Creator and executive producer Josh Berman says of the studly Texan: “When Jake came into the office to audition for the role, the whole production came to a stop. Everyone wanted to talk with him. He was so gracious and charming. He was spot-on and won the role in the room.”
Of course all this acting and fame stuff is just a happy accident. I am quite certain Jake went on that reality show looking for true love.

Jean Allen says:
Jake takes himself seriously, but he has no clue to who he truly is. His intentions are good, and as he was cautioned by the judges on DWTS, he tries too hard and needs to relax. He envisions himself an actor, but his talents are limited. He appears to come from a good family with good values, but he has certainly strayed….Vienna is without scruples. She appears to be accustomed to getting whatever she wants from daddy, and Jake is her next sugar daddy. It seems as if Jake is seriously trying to make this relationship work, and for Vienna to win over the approval of his family. She is riding the wave, and when it dies out on the shoreline, she will probably walk off with someone else. Jake has already realized that she is quite needy for attention, as is he. They both have “stardust” in their eyes, they are both highly competitive, and it will be interesting to see who can pull down the “acting jobs” in Hollywood. I believe that Vienna has had more practice at acting than Jake. The guy is cute, charming and adoreable, but the charm is growing dull. Hopefully, Jake will find the pleasure and joy in finding what his parents have in one another. The lime light and Hollywood have a poor record in supporting the kind of marriage and partnership of which he described that his parents have and which he desires for himself. Best wishes to him, and, may Vienna truly be the lady that he insists she is.
