Awards season over, “peaceful and happy” Glenn Close looks to reboot: “I’m going into a time of rest and reflection”
A week after her shocking Oscars loss, Glenn Close returned to social media to touch base with her followers.
At 71, I don’t think the three-time Emmy winner, three-time Tony winner and seven-time Oscar nominee has ever been more popular and admired. It has, I think, a lot to do with the class and grace she showed throughout the long awards season – especially on the night of the Academy Awards.
“I had an amazing time there,” she says in a new Instagram video. “Thank you for all your notes, thank you for all your love – that great outpouring of love that I felt throughout that whole awards season.”
While the Oscar remained elusive, she did win the Golden Globe, the SAG Award, the Critics Choice Award, and the Independent Spirit Award for her performance in The Wife.
It was reported last week that Miss Close will star in the big screen version on the musical Sunset Boulevard but she does not mention that in this video. But she does allude to exciting possibilities and that certainly would be one of the biggest of her already legendary career.
