Armie Hammer puts James Woods in place on Twitter then Amber Tamblyn joins the fray

As an actor, James Woods has won three Emmys and been nominated for two Academy Awards. But these days, the 70 year old gets a lot more attention for his controversial tweets than any acting jobs. The latest episode involves Woods tweeting about the new gay-themed film Call Me By Your Name which is about the relationship between a 17-year-old male student and his 24-year-old tutor. The Los Angeles Times reports: The inciting incident was a Sunday tweet from Woods commenting on a gay conservative’s opinion that Hammer’s new movie, “Call Me by Your Name,” celebrates adults having sex with teens. “24 year old man. 17 year old boy. Stop,” wrote Chad Felix Green.

In “Call Me by Your Name,” Armie Hammer, 31, portrays a 24-year-old graduate student who has a romantic and physical relationship with the 17-year-old son of a professor who is hosting him for six weeks abroad one summer.

“I have experience being the teenager. LGBT should not be romanticizing adult-teen sex,” Green tweeted Sunday.

Woods’ Twitter comment was blunt, touching the third rail that is the North American Man/Boy Love Assn.: “As they quietly chip away the last barriers of decency. #NAMBLA.”

That earned him a slap Monday morning from Hammer, who tweeted at the conservative actor, “Didn’t you date a 19 year old when you were 60…….?”

2 Remarks

  1. “As they quietly chip away the last barriers of decency.”

You just described the Trump administration Mr Woods. Now fuck off.

  2. I’m reading “Call Me By My Name” now, and it is as thick as molasses. It’s a teenage train of thought by the younger protagonist. And he’s extremely smart and uses these huge SAT words. It’s not a light read. Yesterday I found out that Armie Hammer is playing Oliver, and now I can’t get his face out of my mind in the “mental movie” as I read the book. Oh, and James Woods is an asshole.
