Andy Murray wins Olympic gold!
I’m in Las Vegas for the Unity journalism convention and was out last night catching the amazing Zumanity show.
But I still woke up at 6 a.m. to watch the Olympic tennis final between my beloved Roger Federer and Britain’s Andy Murray.
I’ve never seen Murray play better or Federer more flat. The result was a surprisingly lopsided 6-2,6-1,6-4 victory for Murray who had lost the Wimbledon final to Federer just three weeks ago.
I’d normally be devastated for Federer but you kind of figure this was meant to be. The Games being held in London, Murray coming so close in big tournaments (he had lost four major finals – three to Federer) and finally breaking through.
Juan Martin del Potro, the 2009 US Open champion, beat Novak Djokovic for the bronze medal.
