Andrew Rannells will take over lead in “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” after NPH departs in August
Talk about a hard act to Follow!
It was confirmed today that after the Tony wins for best musical revival and best actor in a musical for star Neil Patrick Harris, Hedwig and the Angry Inch will continue its Broadway run after NPH departs the show in August.
He will be replaced by Andrew Rannells in the role of a transgender punk rock singer.
Rannells certainly has the Broadway chops with his triumph as the lead in The Book of Mormon.
NPH leaves Aug. 17 then Rannells begins an eight-week run.
The show had originally been set to close after Harris left but the Tony wins have given it added box office muscle.
