American Idol: Three of four eliminations deserved; hunky Casey James and Tim Urban still in the hunt
Missed the American Idol results show last night because I was in Beverly Hills attending Dexter night at the Paleyfest event. I’ll have some posts about that later. As for the other three: John Park, Jermaine Sellers and Haeley Vaughn, they deserved to go.
Park has chosen dreadful songs and had zippo charisma. I’m surprised he made it past last week. Sellers can sing but his attitude was off-putting and I knew he was a goner. I’m sad about Haeley though, the little cutie. I thought she was so adorable last week with that big, red guitar singing I Wanna Hold Your Hand and smiling so big the whole time.
I think Simon Cowell has been unexusably rude this season but I do agree that Haeley’s rendition of The Climb was “a complete and utter mess.”
The two hunks of the competition remain: Casey James and Tim Urban (pictured below). Tim has a buff body that could get him some votes in the weeks to come but he doesn’t have the talent to make top 10. Casey, however, is the real deal and should make the top three unless he has a major misstep.

Michelle had virtually no airtime during the audition episodes. I forgot who she was half the time, so I wasn’t surprised to see her leave, despite her talent and stupendous fashion sense.
Tim Urban is dreamy. I mute the TV when he sings, though. He’s also not too bright, I don’t think, because he’s not really milking the bod in his performances. He should ask to sing shirtless… or at least with one of those low-cut numbers Simon always wears.
And yes, Simon has been incredibly rude this season, although most of the judges have. It’s like they’re *finally* expecting more, despite the fact that this is probably the worst cast, talent-wise, yet.
Also, did I mention Tim Urban is dreamy? Such a shame that’s he’s most likely a religious zealot… and will never last very long in the competition, despite the votes from VFTW and the tweens/gay men that vote based on looks.
And Casey James… he’s an odd one. When his hair is down, I don’t like him, but when he’s got it in a ponytail, he’s pretty good-looking. I’ve never seen someone whose hair made such a difference!
