“American Idol” recap: Judges underwhelmed by final four – except front-runner Crystal Bowersox

I’m just gonna go ahead and say it: When will this ho-hum season of American Idol end?

Just crown Crystal Bowersox or Lee DeWzye champ already and hope for a better season next year. I’m over it!

The judges justifiably panned Casey James’ nice but sleepy Mrs. Robinson and were not much more impressed with Lee’s Kiss For The Rose or Michael Lynche’s Will You Be There.

On this night of songs from movies, the judge’s lacked some credibility because they could stop joking about the song titles or movies they were from. They were, as Simon would say, “a bit indulgent.”

Annoying.

Ellen did have a funny Line after Casey and Michael dueted on Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman. She said: “Yes, as a matter of fact, I have loved a woman.”

That brings us to Crystal who nailed I’m Alright from Caddyshack and restored her front-runner status. Here is her segment:

Also, Jaime Foxx may be oh-so talented and mighty sexy but he was a very mediocre mentor. Harry Connick Jr. has set the bar very high.

Judges loved the evening’s two duets though, as did I. Both were outstanding. Enjoy!
