Adam Lambert’s supportive words for Johnny Weir
Adam Lambert certainly knows all about being criticized for performing in a flamboyant way.
So when the pop star saw Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir being ripped on for his flamboyance by two Canadian sports broadcasters – they said he was setting a bad example for other male skaters – Adam came to his defense.
“I’m glad he’s a trailblazer,” Adam told Access Hollywood recently. “He’s comfortable in his own skin, clearly. And he’s expressing himself. I think that’s what art’s all about.”
Adam faced an onslaught of negative reaction after his controversial performance at the American Music Awards that included sexually explicit choreography and a kiss with a male band member.
“Whenever you do something that hasn’t really been done, you’re going to get love,” Adam added. “[And] you’re going to get hate.”

It is almost embarrassing to hear Lambart saying much to Johnny Weir let alone give him advice. Clearly, Johnny Weir handles himself with elegance and style on the style and off. Adam Lambert is new to the scene and has conducted himself in a way that is no way on par with anything Weir has done. Unlike Weir who has established himself over time, whether Lambert is anything more than a flash in the pan remains to be seen.

My mistake-I meant on the ice and off. Johnny Weir has paid his dues!
