Adam Lambert greatest hits album on the way

Adam Lambert fans are getting mighty hungry for a new album from the singer whose last one was Trespassing in 2012.

Sony Legacy is taking care of that – sort of.

The parent company of the singer’s former label, RCA, is releasing The Very Best of Adam Lambert, a 14-track collection of Lambert’s greatest hits and more on May 27.

Adam recorded just two albums for RCA (owned by Sony): For Your Entertainment in 2009 and Trespassing.

The latter made Adam the first openly gay male singer to have an album reach number one.

He later walked away from his contract because the company wanted his third album to be a collection of covers.

The compilation album will include Adam’s American Idol covers of Tears for Fears’ Mad World and U2′s One as well as his version of Lady Gaga’s Marry the Night which he performed in Glee, according to

His biggest hits are Whataya Want From Me, If I Had You, Better Than I Know Myself, Never Close Our Eyes and Trespassing.

As far as new music, Billboard reported last month that Adam is currently working on a third studio album with producer Max Martin who produced two tracks on his first album including Whataya Want From Me.

2 Remarks

  1. How ridiculous. He’s had one “hit” and that’s it so far really. Give him a few years before you start milking the money machine like this guys.

  2. Sony will suck the last dime out of your pocket by calling this a “Greatest Hits” album. Everyone who loves Adam knows his musical career is in it’s infancy. I have all these songs except for the Glee song, which I can buy on iTunes.
