2010 GLAAD Media Awards by you. Here are some photos I snapped of Adam Lambert on the red carpet of the GLAAD Media Awards at the Century Plaza Hotel on Saturday night.

Adam closed the show by performing two songs. He was introduced by Judas Priest lead singer Rob Halford who said: “Thank God for Adam Lambert, we need someone like him in the community.”

After performing Fever and Music Again, Adam told the crowd his mission “is not only to promote visibility in the gay and lesbian community but to promote diversity in the gay and lesbian community.”

I chatted with Adam briefly on the red carpet and he told me he enjoyed his stint as mentor on American Idol last week. Before he left for the awards show, Adam posted via Twitter: Looking forward to the GLAAD awards tonight! I may just have to swish it up a bit. :)

Thank you for the article and pictures. As a straight fan of Adam’s I believe that he is also a the perfect person to open up the eyes of ALL people from all walks of life. Adam may be the one to show the world that wonderful, talented and creative people can be from any background. Wouldn’t it be nice to live in a world without hate?

  3. This man is incredibly beautiful, has a huge heart and can SING! Thank you for the pictures.

  5. Someone please tell Adam that when it comes to foundation, less is more!

  6. Hahaha I love him.

  7. Thanks for the pics, he is gorgeous!!

  8. Great pictures. Thank you! Adam looks great and talks smart as usual. And just saw an amateur video clip of his performance and he sounded great as usual too.

  9. I love that his “mission is not only to promote visibility in the gay & lesbian comm. but 2 promote diversity in LGBT”.

We needed someone like him in the public eye. An “it’s OK to be weird. It’s COOLer to be weird” message for so many secluded kids struggling to deal with society’s expectations and bullies. And even older kids, adults.

Thank you for tweeting to us fans and for the interview and pictures. I heard that he dazzled the GLAAD awards.

  11. I just love Adam, not only for his out of this world voice, breath taking, electrifying performances, but also for who he is, a very beautiful enlightend human being!

  12. A very intelligent statement. Considering the intolerance in both the hetero and homo communities especially regarding Adam Lambert. All gay men are not the same gay man. Especially THIS ONE. Genuine, sweet, hard-working, kind to others, smart and trusting to a fault. He is absolute perfection in this appearance. That suit and tie! Yes, God Bless Adam Lambert. His throw down at the AMAs and earnest attempts to be a bridge between both worlds are the bravest advancement for LGBT in entertainment history. The face of a new generation.

  13. It so time for people to open their eyes to promote positive diversity. Really everyone is diverse in their own way and we should embrase each person for their contibution to society. Adam,Ellen, and so many who have been reconized for their commitment to balancing the attitudes of our society are very special. I think things are getting better slowly but surely. I just ask people open their hearts and minds and cut the fear factor out of the equation of their thinking. There are so many great people out there with talent and goodness you will sorely missing out on;what a shame for you and what you are missing. You will be missing laughter, music, and human insite you may have never other wise experianced. I am proud to embrace this attitude and beg once and for all; eyes to stay on the “human factor” first and formost. We are all in this together and need each other for sure. Adam Lambert you are amazing and a begon of light to so many..never change and yes entertain us because you do it so perfectly.

  14. OMG
    He is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!

  15. He is one gorgeous man there is no doubt about it. I love have Adam has turned up the volume in America on Gay diversity. So sick of the stereo typing and one size fits all perspective Americans have of gay people. I also love the way he handles all the detractors with love and understanding – it makes their hatred look so petty.

  16. It IS cool to be weird. It’s obvious that most of us are outcasts from society at large. It’s not so obvious that some of us are outcasts within the LGBT community. Why is this? Magazines that we buy tell us how great it is to be gay and affluent. Really? Great. Now tell me something I NEED to know. Most gay Americans are not rich and famous.

Adam Lambert is so nice to all of his fans and critics alike. He is a wonderful person and a gentleman. He seems to put everyone at ease. He really disarms people.

  17. Believe or not I had never heard of GLAAD until I heard he was going to attend, then I saw all the other cool people there too. He is bringing more awareness and visibility to the gay community. You do not have to like his music to be aware that this is a very big step. He is very much in the mainstream right now. I found myself wandering all over this site in interest at the other topics. All I ask is let him be who he is, and please stop trying to put him in a box. I had read a post from another fan, about how him just being out there, is helping the closeted gay teens with gay teen suicide a major factor. She had a young family member who had been scarily depressed for years recently come out, and she says Lambert made him feel it was okay to be different, Not only was he gay, but he was apparently very unique? in personality… and I was like whoa..

  18. I want his shades! Adam is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!!!
