2018 Emmy nominations: Lily Tomlin, Ricky Martin, Kate McKinnon, Tituss Burgess & other LGBT performers score nods

The Emmy nominations were announced this morning. I don’t have time for any reaction or analysis but would love to hear from readers about which nominations they are happy with and who they think got snubbed!

There is some LGBT representation with Jane Lynch getting two nods and out performers Lily Tomlin, Ricky Martin, Sarah Paulson, Kate McKinnon, Tituss Burgess, RuPaul Charles, Cherry Jones, Tim Gunn, Wanda Sykes, and Rachel Evan Wood also getting nods.

I’ve put in bold performers who are LGBT or who were nominated for an LGBT roll because we care about that stuff here at Greg In Hollywood! If there’s an LGBT nominee I missed please let me know!

One Remark

  1. I almost think that network television have its own Emmys. It seems that the “other” channels rule the roost, and I really don’t think that they are deserving of it. Like the movie industry, they buy their way into the awards. I do have to say that I try to get into many of these limited series by these channels, and outside of “true Blood”, which I followed faithfully, none of these “hyped up” shows entertain me very well. I am so highly entertained by network dramas, especially from CBS, plus some NBC fare. Much of the acting is superb. I just watched the new episode of “Code Black” and noted some fabulous acting. These shows get overplayed by these independent shows that are highly oversold. These shows could go on network TV and be overlooked…because, yep, they were on (gasp) NETWORK TV.
