Kickstarter campaign for a season four of Emmy-nominated series “EastSiders” is launched!

This is something I can fully get behind and encourage you to help support.

EastSiders is an Emmy-Nominated LGBT series about a gay couple and their friends trying to stay together through drunken outbursts, double standards and dirty deeds. I was initially interested in the show because it stars Van Hansis who I became a huge fan of when he played Luke Snyder on As the World Turns.

After seeing the first season, I quickly became a fan of the rest of the cast led by Kit Williamson who also writes and directs the episodes and produces the series with real-life husband, Emmy nominated actor John Halbach. Constance Wu, riding high with the success of Crazy Rich Asians and the TV series Fresh Off the Boat, has appeared in half of the show’s episodes.

After 6 years, 3 seasons, 21 episodes and 8 Emmy Nominations, the team behind EastSiders needs our help to bring this story to a close and has launched a KickStarter campaign.

Season 4 promises to be the show’s wildest, with tons of drama, laughter and even a drag queen wedding!

Although the series is streaming on Netflix worldwide, EastSiders is still a completely independent production.

There is a partner in place to help cover post production costs, but producers still have to raise their production budget by October 11 or they won’t be able to film this fall.

$100,000 will allow them to produce a four episode season, and they have some exciting stretch goals planned if they pass their goal!

The bare minimum they need to produce episodes 1-4 is $100,000. If they reach 125K they will film two additional episodes and be able to give the show’s characters of Douglas (Willam Belli) and Quincy (Stephen Guarino) the wedding of their dreams. And if they reach 135K they will release a feature-length documentary going behind the scenes of the making of the show.
